ELMIRA, NY – The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of 33-year-old Roman J. Coston, currently incarcerated at the Chemung County Jail, on a Fugitive from Justice Warrant out of Bradford County, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
On Friday, March 20, 2026, the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, that they had a warrant for Coston and wanted to extradite him. Coston was subsequently determined to be in the custody of the Chemung County Jail and, after confirmation from Bradford County, therefore Coston was arrested as a Fugitive from Justice.
Coston was arrested, processed as a Fugitive from Justice, and then arraigned in the City of Elmira Court. Coston was remanded back to the Chemung County Jail, awaiting extradition to Bradford County, Pa.
Investigators determined Coston was already being held at the Chemung County Jail at the time the notification was received from Bradford County, PA. Once the warrant was confirmed the with Pennsylvania officials, deputies allegedly processed Coston as a fugitive from justice while he remained in custody.
Officials reported that Coston was subsequently arraigned in the City of Elmira Court. Following arraignment, he was then remanded back into the Chemung County Jail, where he awaits to be pending extradited back to Bradford County, Pennsylvania.
