WELLSBORO, PA – Early Tuesday morning, October 7, 2025, Wellsboro fire and EMS crews responded to a single vehicle crash involving a deer around 5:45 AM.
The accident occurred near 12618 Route 6 in Charleston Township. Wellsboro fire personnel quickly arrived on scene by 5:50 AM and reported that one vehicle was off the roadway.
Medics were able to be recalled as the female driver only suffered minor injuries due to the seat belt and airbag deployment when she struck a deer in the roadway. The driver refused any further treatment and the ambulance was cleared to return to their station.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, 57-year-old Dusty L. Frost of Mansfield, PA, was operating a 2010 Subaru and traveling east along Route 6 when a deer ran out into her lane of travel. The vehicle received disabling damages caused by hitting the deer with the front section of the Subaru.
State police noted in their release that Frost was not injured. The vehicle was towed from scene by 6:55 AM and the remaining Wellsboro fire personnel were able to head back to their station a short time later.
