
WELLSBORO,, PA – The Wellsboro Community Concert Association’s 2025-2026 Season opens this Saturday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m. with a concert by Unspoken Tradition in the Deane Center’s Coolidge Theatre at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro.
Unspoken Tradition is a fast-rising voice for a new generation of roots music. This North Carolina-based quintet is known for their passionate, authentic sound that blends traditional Appalachian roots with newgrass elements. They perform at sold out shows nationwide. Their 2022 album, “Imaginary Lines,” features seven Top 20 singles. In 2025, they released “Resilience,” their newest album. The five members of this bluegrass band are: brothers Audie McGinnis on guitar and Zane McGinnis on banjo, Ty Gilpin on mandolin, Tim Gardner on fiddle, and Sav Sankaran on bass. All are vocalists.
Available in the Deane Center lobby beginning at 6:45 p.m. on Sept. 27 will be season subscriptions with each of the six concerts priced at $14.17 and individual tickets for this and other concerts in the series. Youngsters ages 12 and under are admitted free to the six regular season concerts when accompanied by a paying adult. Student season subscriptions for ages 13 to 18 are $25 with individual student concert tickets for $5 per show.
The next concert in the series is The Mudmen on Saturday, Oct. 11. The six members of this Canadian Celtic rock band took their inspiration from the Irish Rovers and AC/DC. During their 27 years together, they have released 11 albums and given over 3000 performances, both internationally and throughout North America.
Friday Nov. 7, the five-member band Driftwood, of Binghamton, New York, will perform Americana folk rock with a nod to 1960s R&B, 1970s country rock, contemporary pop, folk and traditional Appalachian music. Together since 2009, they are known for electrifying live performances.
Friday Dec. 12, Matthew Ball, “The Boogie Woogie Kid” will present fun, live music with a fresh boogie-woogie piano twist. A pianist, singer and songwriter, he has more than 5 million YouTube views. His upbeat program includes New Orleans songs, boogie-woogie piano and swing-era favorites from the Great American Songbook, and several holiday tunes.
Saturday April 11, 2026, the John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band (J2B2) will perform. This all-star, bluegrass supergroup features four legendary, award-winning musicians whose fresh twist is combining bluegrass with elements of West Coast folk rock.
Saturday April 25, 2026, Greg Piccolo & Heavy Juice will present an unforgettable night of traditional jazz, spiced with blues, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll. Piccolo’s legendary career spans over 60 years. His skillful tenor saxophone playing, unique vocal style, and charismatic stage presence have earned him a place among the best in the industry. Heavy Juice is composed of Shinichi Otsu on organ, piano and bass and Steve Langone on drums.
Wednesday. March 11, 2026, Cherish the Ladies will perform Irish music, sing and dance. This all female, six-member, award winning, Grammy-nominated, Irish-American supergroup has toured the world, played at the White House and the Olympics, and recorded 17 albums and a live DVD. They are not part of the WCCA six-concert series so student and children’s pricing does not apply. A combo season subscription is available for adults that includes the six regular season concerts and the Cherish the Ladies concert.
