
Irene Walsh, age 84, of Selinsgrove, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village in Lewisburg, PA. She was born on January 5, 1942, in Germany, a daughter of Herman and Charlotte Kolmegies.
Irene was married to the late Eugene F. Walsh who passed away on June 27, 2010. She and her husband owned and operated several McDonalds, including those in Mansfield and Wellsboro.
Irene was a member of the ladies’ guild at Holy Child Catholic Church. She was a world traveler and she had been on all seven continents with her husband, Eugene.
In 2020, she moved to Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, to be near her daughter, Jennifer and husband, John, and her four grandchildren. She loved attending all of the grandchildren’s sporting events. Irene was their number one fan at the games. For over 25 years, she spent every January in one of her favorite places in the world, the island of Aruba, where she had met so many of her fondest friends.
Irene is survived by her sons, Robert (Sharon) Walsh of Kimberling City, MO, and Edward Walsh of Reading, PA; a daughter, Jennifer (John) Aument of Selinsgrove, PA; and seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Brittany, Ryan, Nathan, Carly, Emily, and J.J.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Deborah D’Angelo; her husband, Eugene; a sister, Linda Mayer; and a brother, Reinhold Kolmegies.
A private graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Mansfield, PA, with Jane Spohn officiating.
