Goodyear Hose Company Holds Awards Banquet and Honors Members

GALETON, PA – Goodyear Hose Company recently held their appreciation banquet for the members of their department. Guest speaker was Chief William Goltz from Crary Hose Company in Westfield, PA. Chief Goltz discussed the new Class A burn building and training facility in Westfield, PA. This center will help in the further training of many firefighters in the future.

Awards for Years of Service are as follows –

  • Ray Legerlotz – 5 years of service.
  • Nikki Shadle – 15 years of service.
  • Tyeshia Clark – 25 years of service.
  • Kevin Kulish – 25 years of service.
  • Joe Bradley – 30 years of service.
  • Vince Bowen – (2nd Assistant Chief) – 40 years of service.
  • Bill Green – (1st Assistant Chief) – 55 years of service.
  • Perley Bowen – 65 years of service.

The Goodyear Hose Company also handed out awards that ranged from 5 years of service all the way up to 65 years of service with the department. Each photo provided notes the attendee and the award they received.

Everyone was reminded about the support and encouragement that is given to the Goodyear members by their spouses/significant others in the photos provided is sometimes understated – they along with the firefighters are appreciated by the Galeton fire district community and the communities nearby.

Recognition was given to four members of the company and they were Vice President Joe Cimino Jr. and Goodyear Hose Company Fire Chief Joe Cimino for their heroic actions at a recent structure fire in Gaines Township. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, Both men are shown holding plaques to show appreciation of their actions. Also shown above receiving plaques for their actions were Noah Shutt and DJ Wolz. A portion of the inscription on the plaques read: “Your quick thinking and selfless willingness to help are rare qualities in the world today. By running towards danger, you did not just save a house, you saved a home.
