Mansfield, PA – August 13, 2025— Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperative (REC) and Tri-Co Connections (TCC) hosted their 6th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Corey Creek Golf Club, welcoming 28 teams for a day of community engagement and giving.
This year’s tournament generated $32,500 in proceeds, marking a $12,000 increase from the previous year. Funds were directed to support a college fund for Anna Ransom, the 3-year-old daughter of Benjamin J. Ransom, a long-time member of the Tri-County REC team who passed away on August 25, 2024, after more than 15 years of service.
Sponsor participation reached new heights this year, with support from 57 corporate and hole sponsors, raffle sponsors, and many other contributors. The event opened with a performance of the National Anthem by Erick Coolidge, adding a special touch and day of remembrance to the day’s activities.
In response to the support, Ben’s wife Tiffany Ransom shared, “I’m so overwhelmed with gratitude and thankfulness; there are no words to express how much this means to us and to Ben. This is incredibly generous of everyone. You all are wonderful, generous people.”
Ben’s parents, Bill and Cathy Ransom, added, “This is amazing. Everyone has been so generous.”
This tournament has raised nearly $134,000 since its launch in 2020, supporting a host of community programs such as flood relief efforts, local aging services, and recovery initiatives across the region.
Details for next year’s tournament are still being finalized, with the location to be determined.
