WELLSBORO, PA – Both Coudersport and Wellsboro will hold a free seminar titled Scams and Financial Exploitation of Seniors. This seminar is aimed at assisting senior citizens protect themselves from fraud.
Join Northern Pennsylvania Regional College, David Shallcross the Director of Senior Protection from the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, the Mansfield University Police Academy, and the Wellsboro Police Department for a Senior Fraud and Scam Prevention Seminar focused on recognizing scams and protecting your finances.
The Wellsboro seminar is scheduled for next week on Tuesday, April 21st, from 9:00 AM to noon at the Wellsboro Fireman’s Annex Building located at 21 East Avenue. You can register by clicking on the following weblink – https://events.regionalcollegepa.org/event/nprc.events.1520670 .
This event will cover common types of scams involving fraud, cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence. Participants will also learn how to safeguard their finances and identify suspicious activity on their accounts, as well as how to report scams to law enforcement.
