Resource Information for pet owners proved by Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries – March 30, 2026.
TIOGA COUNTY, PA – Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries is wondering if your pet is hungry? If so, they do offer assistance to pet owners who may be struggling to get needed pet foods for their beloved pet. Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries’ HOPE (Help Our Pets Eat) initiative collects dog and cat food to help local pet owners and their furry friends. The food is assembled into week-worth portions and distributed to food pantries around Tioga County, usually monthly or as supplies allow, as well as available at the shelter:
The following locations provide pet food assistance to pet owner;
- SECOND CHANCE ANIMAL SANCTUARIES located at 725 Gee Road in Tioga PA (outside Middlebury). Call (570) 376-3646. They are open 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month from noon to 4:00 PM.
- MANSFIELD FOOD PANTRY located at 5 Benson Drive, (intersection of Route 6 and Benson Drive) in Mansfield , PA. Call 888-829-1341. They are open the second & fourth Wednesday each month Except for the months of November and December, those two months they are open only on the second Wednesday. All times for each month are from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
- WELLSBORO FOOD PANTRY located at the Wellsboro United Methodist Church at the corner of Main Street and Queen Street. Call (570) 988-4018. Opens the second Monday and fourth Tuesday of each month from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
- SISTER JENNY’S OUTREACH CENTER located at 14 Plaza Lane in Middlebury Center PA. Call (570) 206-2075. Open the second Saturday of each month from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
- KNOXVILLE FOOD PANTRY located at VFW 703 Boatman Road in Knoxville, PA. Call (814) 326-4321. Opens the first Tuesday of each month from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
IN A POSITION TO HELP?
You can donate dog and cat food, of any brand or variety, especially multipacks of wet food or new, unopened dry food bags under 6 pounds for easy distribution. If dropping off, please mark items with “HOPE” to differentiate between shelter donations.
