Inmate Arrested as Fugitive from Justice Out of Bradford County

CHEMUNG COUNTY, NY – A Chemung County inmate was recently arrested as a fugitive from justice out of Bradford County, PA.

 According to a release issued by Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, 44-year-old Joshua C. Montgomery, was arrested on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, as a fugitive from justice out of Bradford County, PA, for his original charge of theft by unlawful taking of movable property.

Deputies were told that Montgomery, who was already being held in the Chemung County Jail on unrelated charges, had a warrant out for his arrest through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  After the information was confirmed, deputies provided the information to the Criminal Investigations Division, and at that time, Montgomery was arrested and processed as a fugitive from justice.

Joshua Montgomery was then arraigned in the Town of Horseheads Court and placed back into the Chemung County Jail to await extradition back to Pennsylvania.
