Liberty Volunteer Fire Department Recognizes Members

LIBERTY, PA – Liberty Volunteer Fire Department gathered on Saturday evening, March 21, 2026, to honor the dedication and hard work of their department’s firefighters and ambulance personnel at their annual awards banquet. They also reflected on their year of serving their community.

According to the fire department those in attendance of the evening’s festivities enjoyed time together, as well as, a delicious meal that was prepared and served by Morris’ Catering Service.

Three Liberty volunteers were recognized by State Rep. Clint Owlett and their local department, as they each received a citation for their years of service: Dayton Mitstifer was recognized for his 50 years of service, Rebecca “Becky” Mitstifer was recognized for her 40 years of service, and Curtis Meixel was recognized for his 20 years of service.

The top ten responders were recognized by their department along with Junior Firefighter of the Year, Brock Deitrick, President’s Award to went to Angela Ferris, and Firefighter of the Year award was humbly received by Brenda Colegrove.
