Fire Destroys Shed in Hamilton Township

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, PA – Early Saturday morning, March 14, 2026, fire crews from Blossburg, Liberty, Mansfield and RIT (from Wellsboro all responded to a reported shed fire around 2:18 AM.

The fire was reported near 24 Summit Lane as a neighbor reported the blaze across the roadway in the distance.

Blossburg fire personnel arrived on scene by 2:30 AM and reported that a 10×10 shed was fully involved in flames. Most responding fire units were told to hold at their locations at 2:33 AM. The responding Wellsboro RIT crew was able to be recalled around he same time frame.

Liberty’s tanker and crew ended up holding for Blossburg in case any other emergencies occurred. Mansfield’s tanker unit was recalled at 2:35 AM.

The fire was brought under control at 2:42 AM. The fire was extinguished a short time later and by 3:04 AM all remaining fire units were cleared to return to the stations.

Overall all it took only firefighters approximately a half hour to contain and extinguish the burning shed. The shed was a complete loss. There were no reported injuries.
