WELLSBORO, PA – Shortly after 10:45 AM on Monday, March 9, 2026, Wellsboro Borough Police were first to be notified of a single vehicle accident where a vehicle was reported to have left the roadway and struck a house.
Wellsboro Borough Police confirmed that a vehicle had struck a home on West Ave and one person was injured.
Wellsboro fire and EMS crews were dispatched to the crash in the 80 block of West Ave at 10:47 AM. Fire personnel would arrive on scene just before 11:00 AM.
Crews were quickly on scene to assist a male who may have passed out behind the wheel at the time of the incident.
The driver who was injured in the accident was transported to UMPC Wellsboro Hospital for treatment of injuries and further evaluation.
Wellsboro Electric Company was next to be requested to the scene around 11:12 AM and later UGI was requested by 11:40 AM, as firefighters checked over the home for damages.
There were no traffic issues as the vehicle was well off the roadway. It is unknown how much damage was done to the house that was struck by the vehicle.
Cooper’s Towing service would assist in removing the vehicle from the home and towing it away.
The vehicle was removed from the home by 11:44 AM and all Wellsboro fire crews were cleared to return back to their station as the scene was turned over to the home owner. The homeowner would wait for UGI to arrive and inspect the scene as a safety precaution.
According to property records the home is owned by Kriner family.
