Two Records Fall as Mounties Shine at Blue & Orange Invitational

CU-Mansfield Sports Release – February 2026.

UTICA, N.Y. – The Mansfield University men’s track and field team competed on February 6th and 7th, at the Blue and Orange Invitational hosted by Utica University.

DAY ONE

The Mounties started out the first day in the Distance Medley Relay. Noah SheddenNic MattisonRylan Ebner and Marcus Quaker finished in third place with a time of 11:09.28.

Derek Simpson closed out competition in the 5,000 meter run with 17:53.26.

DAY TWO

An impressive start to day two of the meet consisted of a new school record in the 4 x 200 meter relay. A quartet of Pius Adomako Jr. , Dorrian McCargoCahsid Raymond and Quaker finished third with a new best of 1:32.48

Raymond’s day was just getting started when he rewrote his own 200-meter record at 21.95, which is a DII provisional mark.

Raymond grabbed a second place finish in the invitational 60-meter dash, recording a best time of 6.94.

Jerry Holmes Jr. placed fourth in the invitational high jump ending at 1.88 meters. 

Calvin Cragle recorded sixth place with a best mark of 14.23 meters. Joey Biviano joined collecting 11.47 meters.

Will Posey III debuted in the open high jump, where he finished at 1.72 meters in eighth place, which puts him in the 9th highest jump in program history.

McCargo finished 18th in the open 200-meter at 23.36 and Adomako Jr. 23.78.

Ibrahim Sheriff picked up 19th place in the open 400-meter with 55.56. Posey III (1:00.19) and David Martinez (1:09.51) followed as well.

Shedden competed in the mile finishing at 4:38.20 in 28th place and the 800-meter (2:05.82).

The final event to close out the week was the 4 x 400 meter relay, Ajani Gibson, Mattison, Sheriff and Holmes Jr, took eighth with 3:43.24.

Dominic Bill (6.16m), Ray Kasili (6.07m), Gibson (5.94m) and Joseph Frye (5.84m) competed in long jump.

A second group of Mounties, Bill, Kasili, Frye and Lovett Davenport, attempted the 4 x 200m, finishing eighth with 1:36.54.

McCargo ran a 7.24, Davenport (7.39), Holmes Jr. (7.55), Adomako Jr. (7.55), Kasili (7.64) and Antonio Green Jr. (7.70) in the 60-meter dash.
