BLOSSBURG/MANSFIELD, PA – 96 residents in Blossburg Borough and 1 Bloss Township residence were without power on this extreme chilly Saturday morning, February 7, 2026.
A crew worked for several hours making repairs in the area of Ruah Street in Blossburg Borough.
An extreme Cold Warning is in order and gusty winds are not making things easy for the repair crew or those who have lost power on such a frigid day.
Meanwhile other customers From Blossburg to Mansfield have been reporting that their power keeps flickering on and off. It is unsure if this is being caused by the gusty winds or if it is related to the work being done in Blossburg Borough as crews worked as quickly as possibe to fix the issue that left nearly 100 without power.
One Blossburg resident reported that the power there flickered off and on at least 11 times. While a Mansfield resident reported the first issue occurred there around 4:38 AM as the power flickered on and off 5 times in row. FNN heard the same issue occurred around 7:30 AM and again between 7:53 or 8:00 AM. Others reported the issue happening 3 times in a row around shortly after 9:00 AM.
Local customers are very confused why this is happening especially since the electric company did all that work to upgrading the electric grid and fix or replace equipment at the end of last year in both towns. Either way, FNN staff sends out our best to the electric crew working to fix the issue.
Some of the residents who reached out to FNN, stated this type of electric issue is not good for their appliances or heaters as this has occurred so many times already today. It was noted by a Walmart employee that their refrigeration units were not working due to the flickering issue that hit the Mansfield area this morning.
Although the estimated time of power restoration for those in Blossburg was to be at 1:00 PM, it was restored around 12:45 PM, according to a few residents who were delighted and thankful to the crew that got their power restored.
Special thanks going out the electric linemen who worked to restore power today.
