WELLSBORO, PA – A female driver was injured in a rollover crash that closed down Catlin Hollow Road in Charleston Township for over 40 minutes on Wednesday afternoon, February 4, 2026.
Wellsboro fire and EMS crews responded to the accident scene which involved a red Jeep rolling over and entrapping the female driver. The crash occurred in front of 1273 Catlin Hollow Road.
Pennsylvania State Police were already on scene as Wellsboro Medics arrived at 1:23 PM. It was reported that the vehicle was off the roadway and the driver was confined inside the crushed vehicle. FNN was told that the Jeep came to rest on its side with the driver unable to get out of her vehicle..
Catlin Hollow Road was closed down at 1:31 PM, as additional fire units arrived on scene to assist in extracting the driver. The driver was extricated by firefighters by 1:46 PM.
The driver, Donna Patterson of Sabinsville, PA, was transported to UPMC Wellsboro Hospital, where she was evaluated, treated and later released.
According to Patterson, she was heading towards Middlebury, PA, along Catlin Hollow Road. As she was traveling she swerved to miss a pothole and simply overcorrected which caused her to strike a mailbox on her right. The next thing she knew her vehicle started rolling over.
Donna told FNN that she was very impressed with everyone she came in contact with as fire, EMS and Paramedics assisted her at the accident scene. She said that the fire and EMS personnel showed great teamwork and provided her with excellent patient care in every aspect.
“God bless everyone who assisted,” Patterson stated.
Cooper’s Towing ended up removing the vehicle from the scene after Pennsylvania State Police completed their investigation. The road was reopened at 2:10 PM and all Wellsboro fire units were cleared to return to their station at that time.
