Canton Man Charged With Public Drunkenness

PSP-Towanda Release – December 2025.

CANTON TOWNSHIP, PA – Early Monday morning, December 22, 2025, around 12:26 AM, Pennsylvania State Police based in Towanda were heading out to investigate an alleged domestic incident. While enroute to the scene in the area of Route 414 and Romaine Lane in Canton Township, police came upon an individual stumbling along the roadway. After making contact with the person it was learned that the man was 44-year-old Matthew Cranmer, of Canton, PA. It was determined that Cranmer was the individual involved in the alleged domestic incident that other troopers were on scene at. Cranmer smelled of alcohol and allegedly admitted to drinking multiple alcoholic beverages before leaving the scene of the alleged incident and walking along the public roadway.

According to court records, Matthew Cranmer was only charged with the following;

  • Summary – PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS AND SIMILAR MISCONDUCT
