COVINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA – Blossburg fire and EMS crews responded a single vehicle rollover crash back on Tuesday morning, December 9, 2025, around 8:30 AM.
The accident occurred in the area of 418 East Creek Road in Covington Township.
Although a rescue unit and an ambulance was requested from Mansfield, they would be recalled when Blossburg Fire personnel arrived on scene by 8:37 AM, as there were no injuries to report.
By 8:41 AM all EMS units were recalled. Covington Township crew was asked to be contacted for cinders to be put on the roadway due to the icy road conditions.
Blossburg fire personnel turned the scene over to Pennsylvania State Police and fire personnel were able to be cleared to return to their station by 8:48 AM.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, 43-year-old, Amanda M. Mattison of Blossburg, PA., was traveling approximately 25 MPH Westbound along East Creek Road when she lost traction on the icy roadway as she tried to negotiate a left hand curve. Mattison’s 2011 Ford Escape continued into the eastbound travel lane and was turned sideways before exiting the roadway from the shoulder of the Eastbound travel lane. The vehicle then rolled over onto its roof where it came to rest facing the Northbound direction.
The Ford Escape sustained disabling damages and it was towed from the scene by Shawn’s Towing based in Blossburg, PA.
State Trooper reported that Mattison was wearing her seat belt and confirmed she did not sustain any injuries as a result of the crash.
