CU-Mansfield Sports Release – December 2025.

INDIANA, Pa. – The Mansfield University men’s basketball team competed in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Tuesday, December 16, against Indiana University of Pennsylvania, as the Mountaineers fell 111–71.

Sterling Scott led Mansfield (1–7, 0–2 PSAC) with 14 points.

Nasir Brown added 13 points off the bench, while LaQuan Byrd contributed 10 points as well.

Indiana (Pa.) (6-1, 1-0 PSAC) established an early offensive rhythm, taking a 54–38 lead into halftime behind strong perimeter shooting.

The Mounties stayed within reach early, as Scott, Byrd, and Diarmid Stewart combined key scores to counter the opening run.

In the second half, Scott continued to attack the basket, while Brown and Byrd connected on jumpers to keep Mansfield competitive.

Jackson Henry added a bucket in the paint, and Joshua Franklin contributed from the free-throw line as the Mountaineers worked to answer the Crimson Hawks’ scoring spurts.

Despite Mansfield’s balanced scoring effort, IUP extended its lead after the break, capitalizing on fast-break opportunities and second-chance points to pull away late.
