WELLSBORO, PA – Northern Pennsylvania Regional College has partnered with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Hodrick Realty to offer a free First-Time Homebuyer Workshop Series designed to help you understand each step of the homebuying process with confidence.
Learn about preparing your credit, choosing a realtor, comparing loan options, navigating home inspections, making offers, understanding contracts, and what to expect on closing day. Local experts from First Citizens Community Bank, McConnel Home Inspection, and North Central Settlement Services will join individual sessions to share practical guidance.
Class Schedule:
January 8 – Getting Ready to Buy
Learn how to prepare your credit, understand the real costs of homeownership, gather the documents you’ll need, and compare common loan options with support from First Citizens Community Bank.
January 15 – Navigating the Home Search
Get tips on choosing the right realtor, reading disclosure forms, touring homes with confidence, and understanding basic real estate law. McConnel Home Inspection will explain what to expect during a home inspection and how results can guide your decisions.
January 22 – Making the Deal
Explore how the bidding process works, what to expect with offers, contracts, and appraisals, and why a title company is essential. North Central Settlement Services will walk through what happens on closing day.
Classes will be held at the Deane Center located at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro, PA, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
