MANSFIELD, PA  – The Mansfield Mountaineer women’s basketball team (1-4) faced off in non conference action on Tuesday evening, Nov. 25th, against D’Youville University (2-3), with Saints pulling away with a 74-58 win.

Katie Sheeler led the Mounties with 34 points to set her career high.

Delilah Nazih and Maya Dickerson tied with 6 points each.

Sheeler twisted the lid off of the game to start up Mansfield’s scoring for the evening with two successful free throws.

The Saints offense kickstarted with a deep three that sunk early in the first quarter, 7-3.

A competitive game was at way starting the second quarter with a close score led by the red and black, 13-12, thanks to Sheeler’s buzzer beating three pointer.

Dickerson collected two three pointers midway through the second quarter, which put the Mountaineers’ best foot forward.

D’Youville was not far behind creating a tied game at 24-24 with two minutes left in the first half.

A two pointer tipped the score in the Saints’ favor, and sent them to the locker room with the 26-24 at halftime.

Sheeler’s splash three began the Mountie’s third quarter offensive ambush.

However the Saints ended up with control of the game 55-42 within early minutes of the fourth.

A dominant D’Youville half concluded the night leaving the scoreboard 74-58.
