CU-Mansfield Sports Release – Thursday, November 13, 2025.
MANSFIELD, Pa. – Winter nights in Marion Decker Gymnasium are about more than the chill outside, they are about the roar of the crowd, the squeak of sneakers on polished hardwood, and behind Head Coach Amy Senefelder, the Mountaineers women’s basketball team is ready to make its mark.
Building Momentum
Coach Senefelder enters her fifth season with a squad full of potential and ambition. This isn’t a team defined by a single star, but it’s a group where every player contributes, every rotation matters, and every possession counts.
“We look forward to seeing how our preseason prep will translate to PSAC play. ” Senefelder said.
With experienced returners providing leadership and a wave of talented underclassmen adding speed, athleticism, and energy, Mansfield has the balance to compete in every quarter. Fans can expect fast-paced action, tenacious defense, and a team that never gives up.
The Mountain Ahead
The season kicks off Friday (Nov. 14) at their opening weekend tournament at Clarion against Bluefield State University, offering an early test for Mansfield’s cohesion and strategy, while finishing the weekend with Livingstone College on Saturday (Nov. 15). Home fans will welcome the team back to Decker Gymnasium on Saturday (Nov. 22) to face Bowie State, apart of a 28-game schedule that includes 21 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchups.
Fourteen home games will promise plenty of moments for fans to cheer, celebrate, and witness the growth of this team firsthand.
Eyes on Success
As the Mounties navigate the season, Coach Senefelder emphasizes focus and preparation, with eyes on the PSAC postseason tournament.
“Post season is always the goal, and we have a big hill to climb every day” Coach explained. “We focus on controlling what we can control and getting better everyday”.
With grit, skill, and teamwork at the forefront, the Mansfield Mountaineers women’s basketball team is poised for an exciting winter season. Every game in Decker Gymnasium is an invitation: watch, cheer, and be part of a team defining its next chapter.
