WELLSBORO, PA – On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, a two vehicle crash was reported by Morris fire personnel who was involved in the accident around 1:39 PM.
The crash was reported near 4543 Route 287 as the roadway was said to be a mess as snow fell across the area.
Early reports indicated that the roadway was blocked by one of the two vehicles and the second vehicle came to rest sitting off the roadway. A total of four occupants and one dog were involved in this accident. The firefighter was operating a dark SUV and he had two other occupants with him, plus a dog. The other vehicle only held a male driver.
Wellsboro fire and EMS crews were dispatched several minutes later and they arrived at the scene by 1:52 PM and an ambulance from Morris was requested to respond to the area.
Route 287 was closed at 2:00 PM in both directions due to the crash and the congestion in the area. Traffic was stopped at Broughton Hollow Road around 2:05 PM.
Pennsylvania State Police arrived on the crash site at 2:08 PM.
All patients were evaluated and treated. The lone male driver was transported to UPMC Wellsboro Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The firefighter and his friend went to UPMC Wellsboro Hospital Emergency Room by private vehicle to be checked out. All victims seemed to have only suffered minor injuries.
The vehicles were cleared from around 2:44 PM as firefighters were able to head back to their station a short time later.
